This week Holly Bank celebrated World Turtle Day and spent time learning all about turtles and their natural habitats.
The children enjoyed listening to stories and looking at information books about turtles, where they learned interesting facts about how turtles live, move, and protect themselves with their shells. We talked about the importance of caring for animals and protecting oceans and wildlife around the world.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of creative activities, including making their own turtle artwork using paint, collage materials, and different shades of green and brown. They explored patterns and textures while carefully decorating their turtles.
The children also enjoyed sensory and small world play linked to ocean habitats, using water trays, sand, and sea animal figures to create their own underwater adventures. These activities encouraged imaginative play, communication, and curiosity about the natural world.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and excited to learn about these amazing animals and the importance of looking after our environment.
