Oakwood House Nursery and Forest School can be found in the heart of Edgerton. Set within a period property surrounded by its own woodland and mature gardens, Oakwood House provides the highest quality outdoor play and learning experiences.
As a Forest School we focus on outdoor play, enabling your child to explore and experience the natural world through hands-on nature-based activities. These take place in all weathers and is led by qualified Forest School leaders. Your child will have opportunities for rich imaginative play, developing resourcefulness as well as keeping physically active and healthy. Discovering the wonders of the natural world growing in confidence and self-esteem.
From making dens, and exploring and investigating the natural habitat, to learning about insects, animals, plants and trees. Looking under logs and leaves, climbing trees, playing in the mud kitchen, storytelling hidden away in sheltered spots, willow dens, natural art, cooking on campfires and whittling wood. Your child’s imagination can run wild!
Indoors, the nursery rooms are light and spacious with resources made from natural, sustainable materials to reflect the outdoor environment. Children are encouraged to explore and experiment and are supported to develop at their own pace. Parents are recognised as the most important adults in a child’s development and we will encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s learning, share special moments from home and become part of our nursery community.
