The babies at Holly Bank have been learning about turtles. We created a sea life sensory tray where we introduced the book 'Who am I'. We talked about turtles and sang the 'tiny turtle’ song whilst using our turtle puppet. The babies designed their own turtle shells using sponges and different coloured paints. We also created a tray so the children could feed the hungry turtle with leaves and make the turtle splash in the water. We used the words ‘green’, ‘shell’ and ‘hungry’ to describe the turtle.
This has been a great opportunity for the babies to learn about what turtles can eat and the activities also helped strengthen gross and fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
