The Harlequin children read a story about insects which contained real life photo images of many different insects. We extended the children’s learning by taking the children down into the forest to look out for some of the insects we had read about some of these included:
- Beetle
- Lady birds
- Bees
- Ants
- Caterpillar
- Centipede
- Woodlouse
- Worm
- Butterfly
We talked about why we might not see some of those insects on a cold wet day, discussing seasonal changes. In the afternoon we then looked at some other real life images from across the world to create our own art work based on the pictures we have looked at.
