On Monday 16th October, the children at Bradley House took a trip around the world to celebrate World Food Day. Our award winning cook Judith carefully planned a menu based around food from all over the world, we enjoyed a tasty menu whilst learning about different cultures and the food they eat.
During meal times staff talked to the children about the different countries the food originated from and the different ingredients we have in our food.
Morning snack – Homemade bread sticks and fruit (Italy)
Lunch – Vegetable Goulash with potatoes (Hungary)
Pudding – Apple strudel (Austria)
PM Snack – Shortbread (Scotland)
Tea – Vegetable Biryani (Iran)
Pudding – Fresh Fruit Salad (USA)
Our children certainly enjoyed exploring new flavours and tasting all the amazing food from around the world, as well as roleplaying cooking different foods such as pancakes and tasting a variety of fruit throughout the day!
