World Book Day

The children at Oakwood House Nursery got dressed up and in character for World Book Day on Thursday 4th March. We saw Peppa Pig, Pirates and Princesses as well as Batman and even Alice in Wonderland! They brought in their favourite books and parents joined them for an extra special Stay and Play that afternoon. The pre-school children also had a trip to Lindley Children’s Book Shop to spend their book tokens.

World Book Day was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.
