This week at Holly Bank we celebrated World Bee Day and spent time learning about the important role bees play in our environment.
The children enjoyed listening to stories and taking part in discussions about bees, flowers, and how bees help plants to grow by spreading pollen. We talked about why bees are important and how we can help to look after them by caring for nature and planting flowers.
Throughout the day, the children explored a range of creative activities, including making bee-themed artwork using yellow and black craft materials, painting, and collage resources. They were excited to create their own bees and talk about the patterns and colours they could see. They also enjoyed sensory activities and small world play linked to gardens and insects, where they explored flowers, natural materials, and toy insects while developing their curiosity and imaginative play skills.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn more about nature, the environment, and the importance of caring for living things.
