The Fairfield preschool children have been on a bear hunt, we went to catch a big one, it was a beautiful day and we weren’t scared!!
The children enjoyed connecting with nature on our first trip to the woods, we observed lots of wild life on our way to the woods and lots of different things in our local community. We recognised our local area such as Tesco and Lidl, we spoke about going with our families and what we buy.
We looked for a bear cave like in the bear hunt book and noticed all the various obstacles that were on our walk, lots of thick oozy mud! The children collected all kinds of different natural objects on their journey to the woods and are now making a journey stick with their findings, encouraging them to use their increasing fine motor skills when attaching the items to the stick using wool.
