Visit to the duck pond

Whilst exploring Autumn, the Portland House Daisy children have really enjoyed a number of visits to Lindley duck pond.

On the way there, the Daisies had fun sitting in double prams enjoying the sights and sounds of the local area. At the duck pond the children have enjoyed watching the geese, ducks and pigeons. The children found the birds fascinating, pointing and using single words like “duck, quack, water and trees”.

The children collected lots of natural objects to bring back to the nursery so that we could share these with parents at our Stay and Play, for collaging and exploring in our sensory tray.

The Daisies love our trips out in the local community and some even communicate this by asking for “ducks” or “quack”. We are now developing this by singing animal action rhymes using puppets.
