Valentines Day

This week the Harlequin babies have been exploring the colours red and pink to celebrate Valentines Day. We incorporated this into many activities and introduced heart shapes which many of the children soon learnt to recognise. The babies loved being creative with paint, creating pictures for loved ones and using their fine motor skills to make marks and patterns in the playdough.

Our toddlers have taken an alternative look at Valentines Day by learning about the heart. They learned where their heart is, what is does and how it feels when it beats inside the body. The children discovered what happens when your body exercises and how it makes you feel afterwards. They also learned about CPR and how to do chest compressions and rescue breaths. Some of our children are very good at this and may have a future career in medicine!
