The Harlequin children enjoyed a demonstration from our very own nursery cook Debbie. She talked to the children about some of the tropical fruits we had delivered from our local supplier Huddersfield Foods.
This also links in with our food for life early years award in the education in which the children receive around the food they eat and where it comes from.
Dave and James at Huddersfield Foods were able to source us a number of tropical fruits for the children to try.

Debbie used some of the fruits to make fruity smoothies and the children were each given maps of the world to locate some of the hotter counties in which the fruit grows. The children were interested in the many different ways in which food is transported from these countries and the transport it travels on to get to our plates.
