With everything going on right now what we need more than ever is hugs. The Oakwood House pre-school children have been spreading some love around the garden today.
We are all missing our grandparents, family and friends so today we made each other smile. We are always mindful of all the benefits of being around trees so today we decided to do some tree hugging. It’s a great maths activity, how many children does it take to hug the tree all the way round?
Why don’t you give your favourite tree a cuddle and work out if it’s ancient. If you’ve got an oak that is three adult hugs (or more), a beech measuring two or a skinny rowan tree that’s one hug round, then you’ve got yourself an ancient tree that could have been alive for 100s of years!
