The Portland House preschool children have enjoyed exploring different areas of our environment in the form of space this week. On our art table we created shape rockets and throughout the activity we discussed the role of an astronaut and named imaginative or real life planets the rockets could travel to in space.
This continued into our role play, where we dressed as astronauts, creating narratives around space travelling in rockets and the day in the life of an astronaut. We shared group stories in our reading area developing our mathematical knowledge and language reading the book "10 Little Robots" and singing "Five little men in a flying saucer".
