This week at Portland House we have been ‘singing’ the praises of Megan our Early Years student who is currently training with us whilst on her university placement in the babies Buttercups room. As part of one of her projects Megan has created a useful toolkit specifically for parents all about the importance of using songs and rhymes essential for the early development of young babies.
It contains prompt cards to support the introduction and use of wonderful nursery rhymes, an introduction to Makaton signing and links to some useful websites for further information all on a handy key ring.
Staff will be giving parents of children in both the Buttercup and Daisy rooms one of these delightful tool kits to use at home with their babies.
