The babies at Holly Bank enjoyed playing out in the snow! They wrapped up warm in their winter warmers and enjoyed playing outside. Everyone had fun using their hands to touch and feel the cold crunchy texture of the snow and they enjoyed making footprints across the wooden bridge! The adults introduced descriptive language such as "crunch" "cold" "icy" and encouraged the older babies to repeat these words to help develop their communication and language skills.
The toddlers have also had lots of fun playing in the snow today. We found some tiny foot prints in the snow made by the birds and we followed these around the garden. We then looked at our own footprints and compared the sizes and the different patterns our wellies made. Then we all worked as a team to build a snow man, we collected items from around the garden to use to make the snowman’s hands and eyes.
