Similarities and Differences - ‘People Who Help Us’

At Portland House the Buttercup babies really enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day, the staff planned an opportunity to extend this learning further by introducing them to outfits from people who help us. They had tremendous fun dressing up in hospital super hero attire, thankfully our ‘doctor’ and ‘paramedic’ listened to heartbeats, checked x-rays and declared us all fit and healthy.

Over the coming months we will be learning across the age groups all about the special people in our local community who help us on a daily basis in their very important jobs roles. We have planned some exciting visits and some of our parents/carers have kindly agreed to come into nursey to talk to the children about their work and how they help people. We are really looking forward to visits from people who work in the hospital and emergency services and are hoping to look around and explore the emergency vehicles too.

If you are interested in coming into nursery to talk to the children about your profession, interests or hobbies please speak to your key person. We would be delighted to arrange this for a group time session.
