The Fairfield toddlers have been exploring the sea side and lots of fun experience that we can have when we visit. We discussed textures and investigated what happened when we combined sand into our playdough, the children said it felt “bumpy”. We used a variety of different sized shells to use mathematical language when making fossils. We then used all our senses to explore colours when making ice creams using colour foam. We spoke about what flavours the colours were and what new flavours we could make for our friends. We practised taking turns and waiting for resources when sharing the dishes of “ice cream”.
