Science Day

Holly Bank preschool learned all about magnetic forces for Science Day. The children had to find objects of their choosing and see if the magnets stuck to them or not. We found out that magnets only stuck to metal objects. The children learned about magnetic forces and that magnets have two poles – a north and a south pole – just like the earth! We discovered that you can’t put two of the same poles together.

One of the children told us that his brother does science at school and to be just like him, he wanted to make a volcano, so we did! We used lava powder – bicarbonate of soda – and vinegar to create a reaction and our volcano erupted on the table! It was very exciting!
