The children in Holly Bank preschool have been learning about lots of celebrations this week including Remembrance Day. We talked about why we have Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies.
The children shared experiences of times when they had been brave, when they had lost something special and when they had helped others and we talked about how these things make us feel.
We learned about the meanings of different coloured poppies and chose which colour we would like to make from collage materials. At 11 o’clock on Thursday 11th November we had a minute of quiet reflection, listening to a special song about Remembrance.
We have all learned a lot this week and can share this knowledge and understanding with others.
