Portland Nurseries has seen 35 babies born to employees over the last 3 years and an amazing 17 in the last year alone!
Anastasia Murphy, Joint General Manager of Portland Nurseries’ said “This remarkable number of maternity/paternity leaves has been a challenge to manage but it has been worth it. If you have a predominately female staff team that stays with you for many years, having babies is only to be expected. Our staff team are highly qualified, with over 85% holding a NVQ level 3 or above in childcare, but a team that understand children’s needs from their own personal experience as a parent is crucial in delivering outstanding childcare.
We currently employee 96 staff who care and support over 550 children and their families day to day. All the team at Portland Nurseries’ are proud to play such an important part in caring for and developing the future generations in the local community.”
