This month the Holly Bank toddlers have been developing their maths skills by:
Conker sorting Collecting conkers of different sizes. Using tongs to group them in the egg boxes. Sorting and collecting and emptying. Counting the conkers, using mathematical language.
Pumpkins Different sizes of pumpkins, talking about weight "too heavy", "light". Carving and talking about the seeds. Lining up the seeds and counting them. Talking about the different shapes created when carving them.
Tyres Creating our own vehicles. Talking about the sizes of wheels and their shapes "round". Car is "square" introducing new shapes such as "rectangle". Talking about how cars work.
