Books are a special part of nursery life at Portland Nurseries, and our community libraries give children and families the opportunity to enjoy stories together, both at nursery and at home.
Our libraries are there for everyone to use, with families encouraged to borrow, swap and donate books, helping us create a wonderful collection that continues to grow. Some of our libraries can be found within our nursery gardens, including beautiful handmade book libraries, while others are tucked away inside our nursery rooms for children to discover.
We love the idea of books being shared from family to family. A favourite story can be enjoyed by one child, passed on to another, and become a much-loved bedtime book in a different home.
Our community libraries encourage a love of reading, support children's language and communication, spark imagination and create opportunities for families to spend time together sharing stories. Most importantly, they help make books accessible, enjoyable and part of everyday family life.
