Orange and Black Day celebrations

Here at Holly Bank we celebrated “Orange and Black Day” by inviting our Mums and Dads to a Stay and Play session.

The baby room used their hand eye coordination to paint pumpkins using black paint, and they made hand prints using the white paint, they had fun dressing up and scooping out pumpkins to make a lantern. The Toddlers developed their fine motor skills as they used tweezers to pick up some wiggly worms, and extend their maths language by talking about how long or short the worms were. They scooped out a pumpkin and then explored what they found, “What does the pumpkin smell like? What does it feel like? and How many seeds they could count? They also searched for the spiders that were hiding in the slimy jelly. Our Preschool children dressed up in some fabulous costumes, they carried out a science experiment to inflate a balloon using a chemical reaction, searched for spiders and pompoms in the sticky web using tweezers, used their fine motor skills to manipulate the black and orange play dough and joined in to tell the story “Room on the broom”

We raised a grand total of £62.00 for our nominated charity
