Nature Walk

Following on from our calming natural environment workshop on the training day the Oakwood House babies went out for a nature walk to Lindley duck pond. Early experiences with the natural world have been positively linked with the development of imagination and the sense of wonder. Although we do spend a lot of time in our wonderful natural environment at Oakwood a walk to visit the ducks is always popular.

We fed them a few oats and the children were fascinated watching the ducks. Please remember bread is not a good food source for ducks. They need a diet rich in green foods, rather than our leftover stale cake and bread. The canal and river trust has a free guide that you can either download or order. It is filled with quests for all the family to enjoy and lots of useful information.
