At Harlequin we have been celebrating National Storytelling Week. Some children brought books in from home to share at nursery, we talked about our favourite stories and recreated them outdoors: We went on a bear hunt in the forest and used hoops to join children together to make a long “hungry Caterpillar”.
Our Stay and Play was all about telling stories. The children enjoyed using the puppets and musical instruments in order to add props to the stories. We used flash cards to recreate our favourite stories such as “room on the broom” and “going on a bear hunt”. The children enjoyed placing the cards in the correct order and retelling the story.
