This week at Holly Bank we celebrated National Families Day and spent time talking about the importance of families and the special people in our lives.
The children enjoyed taking part in a range of activities that encouraged them to talk about their families, home experiences, and the people who care for them. We shared stories about different types of families and discussed how every family is unique and special. They were invited to create family-themed artwork using a variety of creative materials. They enjoyed drawing pictures of their families, talking proudly about who lives at home with them, and sharing happy memories with their friends and teachers.
Throughout the day, we focused on promoting kindness, belonging, and celebrating the diverse families within our nursery community. It was lovely to see the children engaging in conversations and developing an understanding that families can look different for everyone.
