Maha Shivaratri Celebrations

Holly Bank wanted to share a little story about the wonderful time our nursery children had celebrating Maha Shivaratri!

Once upon a time, in a colourful nursery, the children gathered together to hear the story of Lord Shiva. We told them that Lord Shiva is very kind and gentle, and he helps everyone with love and peace. They loved hearing how Lord Shiva sits in the mountains, surrounded by nature and animals.

After the story, each child became a little artist, creating their own pictures with bright colours and big movements. They were so proud of their artwork!

We took the colour outside and our youngest children enjoyed exploring bright powder paint mixed with sand to create texture and observe change in colours by mixing.

Powder paint is often traditionally used in Hindu celebrations and events.

To end the day, we had a special quiet moment, just like Lord Shiva’s peaceful meditation. The children sat quietly for a few moments, enjoying the calmness, before they went back to their play.

It was a beautiful day full of creativity, kindness, and joy.
