The babies at Holly Bank have been celebrating the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Snake. They explored the lucky Chinese colours of red and gold in the sensory tray and made ribbon sticks in the garden to move like snakes and dragons. The babies used ribbon and paint to create snake pattern pictures which is great for their fine motor skills as they had to pinch the ribbon with their thumb and two fingers to drag it through the paint and onto their paper. We encouraged the babies to repeat the hissing sound that a snake makes.
