This month the Holly Bank preschool have been focusing on ‘Emotions and Individuality’. We used the story “Elmer” the patchwork elephant to help us learn that we are all unique. The story highlights Elmer as a true ambassador of inclusion, acceptance and celebrating our differences. The children enjoyed talking about what makes them different, is it the colour of their hair or eyes? Or something else? The children could sort out the coloured items on the tray and also mix paints which gave them the perfect opportunity to talk about what makes Elmer unique just like them.
