Harvest Week

The babies at Holly Bank have enjoyed exploring our harvest farm tray. In the tray the babies were able to explore different textures and help name the farm animals. We sang "Old Macdonald had a farm" and made all the different farm animals sounds which was great for our communication and language skills.

Outside in the garden we did pumpkin rolling down the drain pipes, we talked about the texture, size and colours of the different pumpkins and introduced vocabulary such as "orange" "white" "bumpy" "smooth". With our older babies who are getting ready to move through to toddler room we also introduced the language of size and encouraged them to put two words together for example "big pumpkin" and "little pumpkin".
