Happy Hatchings!

The Oakwood House preschool have been very ‘eggcited’ taking care of our eggs and watching them hatch into beautiful baby chicks.

We have learnt lots of exciting facts, what a chicken eats in the egg and how they get themselves out! As the chicks got bigger the children were able to hold them and feed them. We spoke about taking care of them, helping to clean their home and gave them fresh food and water every day in order to help them grow.

We have involved the chicks in our activities and even sang “happy birthday” to them when they hatched. We did some egg exercises pretending to be a chick in an egg then fully stretching to hatch out!

We have also drawn some pictures of the chicks and learnt new letters and sounds.
