Green Fingers

Our fruit and vegetables are really doing well in the Oakwood House garden. We planted the beds during lockdown and the children have been caring for them ever since. The children have really enjoyed looking after the plots and water the plants regularly. We have recently harvested the lettuce and chard and ate them with our tea.

Giving young children real hands-on opportunities to garden and to enjoy the taste of the vegetables they grow is an exciting activity. Planting, watering and picking produce allows children to understand where our food comes from.
