The children at Portland House have been doing activities this week to promote the understanding and awareness of the importance of washing our hands to prevent germs and the spread of bacteria to keep ourselves healthy.
The babies engaged in a handwashing experiment on Friday 13th October, they used pepper in a bowl of water to represent the germs and then were delighted to watch as the pepper dispersed in the water when the soap on their hands were dipped in and repelled it.
They enjoyed the feel of the soap rubbing it all over their hands following instructions and taking care to cover all their fingers, back and front their hands making them nice and slippery.
