Today the Harlequin babies were fascinated to find some ice in the garden. They picked it up to hold and to feel how cold it was and held it up to their faces to see through it. We added it to the mud kitchen and used it as an ingredient in our mud pies and when we went back out in the afternoon we all looked for it and then realised that in the sun it had melted into a puddle.
The toddlers have also loved playing outside in the cold today. Jack frost had definitely been out and about last night and we explored all the areas in the garden that were frozen. We touched the frost and made footprints on the ground we listened to the crunching leaves and practised lots of new words such as ‘frosty’ ‘frozen’ and ‘freezing’.
