Flowers in Ice

Last week the Harlequin children enjoyed playing in the unexpected flurry of snow.

‘This snow is very cold on our spring flowers’ said a child with concern. The children then chose their favourite flowers from the garden and we decided we would pop them in water and into the freezer.

The boys and girls then made it their mission to free the frozen flowers by chipping away with tools, holding in between hands to melt and even moved them inside as it was warmer. Eventually the flowers were free of the ice and now drying on our drying rack.

Children are now fascinated by daffodils, buttercups and dandelions.
