Today the Oakwood House preschool have enjoyed a fire in the garden. We talked about our fire circle and about how we have to stay outside the circle when the fire is lit. We spoke about the 3 things we need for a fire to burn and how dangerous fire is. The children asked me about the glove and I told them about my fire glove and how it allows me to not burn myself. We cooked some popcorn on the fire as well. We had to be patient but loved it when it started popping! We finished by putting the fire out my spreading the hot sticks and ash about to cool it down and also by adding water. We all had a fantastic time, stayed safe and followed the rules of the fire circle.
