February Fun

This month the Harlequin children celebrated Darwin day by doing their own little science experiments. The children made rain clouds in a jar by mixing food colouring and water together and squeezing small amounts through shaving foam, the result was like a cloud raining.

The children enjoyed this and the experiment prompted lots of talk about the weather which lead to us leaving water outdoors overnight to see the effects, they were able to explain why the water hadn’t frozen during the night. We talked about the weather getting warmer and the different seasons we experience.

The children have also been very busy practicing yoga this month, they open the session with the respectful greeting “Nameste” then begin the exercise. The children start small on the ground like tiny seeds then gently grow into trees where they wave around in the wind. They have been going home and teaching their mums and dads too!
