Eid Celebrations!

The children at Bradley House recently took part in a vibrant and educational celebration of Eid, combining creativity, cultural exploration, and shared experiences. The event gave the children an opportunity to learn about the significance of Eid while engaging in a range of hands-on activities. One of the highlights was exploring intricate images of henna patterns. The children were fascinated by the detailed designs and symbolism, which inspired them to create their own mehndi-style artwork. Carefully sketching patterns, they experimented with shapes and symmetry, producing unique and imaginative designs. Creativity continued as the children crafted their own crescent moons, a symbol closely associated with Eid. Using a variety of materials, they designed and decorated their moons, proudly displaying their work around the classroom. A particularly meaningful part of the celebration involved listening to their peers talk about how they celebrate Eid at home. These discussions gave children the chance to share personal traditions, from special foods to family gatherings, helping to build understanding and appreciation of different cultures within the school community. The experience was further enriched when a staff member brought in traditional clothing. The children were excited to see and learn about the garments, their styles, colours, and cultural significance. Some even had the opportunity to try them on, adding an interactive element to their learning. Overall, the Eid celebration at Bradley House was a joyful and enriching experience, allowing children to learn through creativity, conversation, and cultural discovery.
