The children at Bradley House had a fantastic time celebrating International Dot Day, discovering just how much fun can come from one little dot! Our dot-filled day began with exploring the wonderful world of spots and dots in nature. The children looked at different animals with spots, talking about their patterns, colours and where we might find them in the wild. We then got creative and used dots and spots to make our own pictures. The children enjoyed using LEGO blocks to create colourful, spotty sweetcorn, carefully choosing their colours and patterns. We also embraced the changing season by creating beautiful autumn trees using our fingers as paintbrushes, adding lots of colourful finger-painted leaves and dots. Our little learners also enjoyed some hands-on sensory play, using pom-poms for scooping, filling and emptying. This provided lots of opportunities to develop coordination, practise counting and explore different textures and movements. International Dot Day was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore creativity, mark-making, patterns and self-expression, while discovering that even the smallest dot can inspire something amazing! We certainly made our mark at Bradley House!
