Discovering Treasures!

This week the Portland House babies in the Buttercup Room have been exploring lots of different objects in our treasure baskets. Some of the objects are shells, brushes, stones, materials and balls. They have been feeling the different objects with their hands, feet and mouths and looking at them closely. Some of the children had a sensory experience when the brushes and soft objects were brushed over their feet and their faces. It was very tickly!

Treasure baskets are created by putting lots of different similar or contrasting objects in to a basket for babies and young children to explore. They are designed to spark interest and curiosity encouraging sensory exploration and independent play.
