After receiving a very tall parcel, the Portland House children took turns to guess what might be inside. We measured ourselves against the parcel to see who was taller and who was shorter. Everyone was shorter apart from the grownups!
When we unwrapped it, we saw it was a cardboard giraffe. We looked in books to see what colours we needed to paint it. We also learnt about how giraffes normally live in the jungle, as we spotted one in 'Rumble in the Jungle'.
Once we painted the giraffe using yellow with brown spots, we gave our giraffe home in our reading corner.
We read 'Giraffes Can't Dance' sitting next to our finished giraffe!
