The Fairfield babies have feasted at the baby festive breakfast, we loved all our mummies and daddies coming to join us celebrating with lots of different activities and eating yummy croissants. We explored the festive playdough and watched as we made marks, and strengthened our fine motor skills patting, poking and squeezing the dough. Babies showcased their singing when joining in with the singing puppets and increasing ability to use single words as she shared a story in the cosy area.
The toddlers – Christmas grotto Stay and Play was very festive, we had lots of fun swirling the “snow” in the woodland animal tuff tray and listened to the story “One Snowy Night”. We showed our mummies and daddies how we sit at circle times and how we have developed our independence in selfcare when having our meals around the table. The children sang lots of Christmas songs they have been practising, doing actions as well as new festive words we have been learning.
The preschool children had lots of fun exciting activities at our Stay and Play Christmas party, especially using our increasing hand eye coordination when tossing the snow balls into the snowman’s mouth, even our mummies and daddies had a turn! We worked as a team in the loose parts area to make a big Christmas tree, looking at shapes, how to enclose spaces, and discussing our decorations at home with our friends. We have enjoyed listening to Christmas stories in our keyworker groups sparking lots of new imaginative play in the home corner. Our pre-schooler’s put on a fabulous show for their families at the Carol concert and were delighted to sing the songs we have worked so hard to learn for everyone to hear, then we enjoyed yummy hot Cacao chocolate and biscuit together.
