This week is National story telling week, and what a busy week we have at Holly Bank celebrating our love of books! Our focus stories have been two of our favourites 'Dear Zoo' and 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. We explored the story sack filling in the different phrases from the book, lifting up the flaps and hunting for the correct animals. We used the wooden spoons to bring the story to life and even had our own tea party like Goldilocks.
The babies were asked to bring in their favourite books from home, we enjoyed reading "Post man bear" outside in the garden, this tied in well as we spotted the postman from the window that morning. The babies enjoyed lifting the flaps to see which woodland animals were hiding behind them. We enhanced our "Old Macdonald" book by creating our own muddy farm with animals. The babies enjoyed exploring the texture of the sticky mud that we made out of brown paints and washing up liquid. We developed our hand eye-coordination skills and fine motor skills by grabbing the animals to roll them in the mud. We developed the activity further by singing and adding the animal sounds!
On Friday lots of you took part in dressing up as book characters, you all looked amazing!
