The children at Harlequin loved learning all about Robert Burns and different Scottish traditions.
We learnt about some of the poems he wrote and listened to Auld Lang Syne as well as some music played by bagpipes. We also listened to the address to a haggis and even though some of the words sounded a little strange we learnt what they meant. We also learnt about what is in a haggis. We even had ‘clapshot’ with our lunch which is a mix of ‘neeps’ and ‘tatties’ and shortbread for our pudding.
We then made some Scottish flags out of different resources and listened to some Scottish Stories one was about the famous dog in Edinburgh called Bobby who stole the hearts of all the villagers and was given special permission to live in Greyfriars churchyard.
