Portland Nurseries is proud to announce that Bradley House, one of its six early years settings, has been awarded the highest possible rating of Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted following its latest inspection.
The accolade marks a milestone for the Portland Nurseries group, with five of its nurseries now rated Outstanding in their most recent inspections in the past three years. This achievement stands as a testament to the organisation’s unwavering commitment to quality education, exceptional care, and nurturing early childhood development.
In the inspection report, Ofsted described Bradley House as an “inspirational nursery” where children “thrive and flourish.” Highlights of the report include:
- A limitless curriculum that is both creative and boundless, fostering curiosity and instilling a lifelong love of learning
- Skilled, nurturing staff who form warm, meaningful relationships with children and accelerate their development
- Richly resourced, joy-filled environments featuring unique learning opportunities—from “dinosaur digs” to storytelling sessions and a fully equipped 'science kitchen'
- A strong ethos of empathy, independence, and community, supported by innovative initiatives such as gardening clubs, well-being sessions, and a ‘pre-school council’
- Thoughtful, inclusive approaches that cater to each child's individual learning needs, supported through close collaboration with families and access to spaces like the nature area and community library
