Twenty Chinese delegates from Beijing made a special trip to Oakwood House Nursery on Friday December 20, as part of their UK tour to learn more about Early Years provision in the UK. The delegates were all Heads and Deputies from Kindergartens based in Beijing. Samantha Richmond, Oakwood Nursery Manager and Rosemary Murphy OBE, Director of Portland Nurseries gave a short presentation on the early years focusing on forest schools. The pre-school children had learnt how to say hello in Chinese and the delegates presented the nursery with small gifts from their own nurseries which often support 700 children and 200 hundred staff.
