Autumn Activities!

Now September is here and the changing in weather the Bradley babies have been excited to embrace the start of autumn! The baby room has been host to various autumn themed activities to explore such as:

Leaf printing - looking at how the season changes our surroundings watching the leaves change colour from green to various shades of orange, red and brown adding paint into the mix enables us to explore colour even further.

Salt dough inspired autumn leaves – this activity was really enjoyed by the babies who love sensory play. They used lots of fine and gross motor skills to mix up the dough and assemble it into leaves using different tools and media.

Shortbread autumn cookies - the babies put on their aprons and hats and got mixing and measuring, cooking up some delicious shortbread to take home. In addition to this the babies have also enjoyed looking at the book ‘Owl babies’ by Martin Waddell and Patrick Benson. This book has been accompanied by lots of creative activities such as creating an owl house which the children enjoyed using paper, glue, feathers and lolly sticks to create an amazing house for the owls. We are excited to continue exploring this season looking at how our environment changes around us.
