Here at Oakwood House the toddlers have had a fantastic Autumn so far and have loved watching the leaves and conkers fall from the trees. Outside we have been exploring torches to look for different insects hiding under the logs and stones. We have explored pumpkins of all different sizes in our Autumnal sensory tray, together we carved a pumpkin and made a cat, the children decided to call him "Gus!"
We made our own hedgehogs with pine leaves as spikes and stones for eyes, we even added cinnamon and it smelt delicious! We have been spending lots of time outside collecting the leaves to create artwork with. We used these to create bonfire pictures and talked about the wonderful colours such as red, yellow and orange. We're looking forward to watching the seasons change and exploring the forest in winter.
