A Taste of the Tropics!

The children at Bradley House had a fantastic time celebrating World Tropical Fruit Day by exploring a variety of exciting tropical fruits. They discovered and tasted fruits including papaya, dragon fruit, mango, passion fruit, kiwi, and physalis.

The children enjoyed helping to prepare the fruits by carefully cutting them open and investigating what was inside. They explored the different textures of the skins and the fruit itself, noticing how some were smooth, bumpy, soft, or juicy. Using their senses, the children looked closely at the vibrant colours, smelled the different aromas, and bravely tasted fruits that were new to many of them. They used lots of descriptive language to talk about their discoveries, describing the fruits as sweet, tangy, juicy, soft, crunchy, seedy, smooth, and refreshing. This activity encouraged the children to be curious, try new experiences, and develop their communication and language skills while learning about healthy foods from around the world.

It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explored, discussed, and shared their favourite tropical fruits with their friends. What a delicious way to celebrate World Tropical Fruit Day!
