Portland House awarded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted

The staff at Portland House Nursery, are celebrating their recent Ofsted inspection which finds them “Outstanding” in every aspect of early years care and education.
Outstanding is the highest judgment that can be made by Ofsted and is given only when there is exceptional childcare provision that greatly exceeds national standards.
Ofsted praised the Portland staff for creating an “extremely inclusive environment in which to care for the children and commended them for the exceptional high standard of assessment and monitoring of each child’s learning and development needs.
The report went on to say “children are achieving as much as they can and the provision for developing their knowledge and understanding of the world is excellent”
Further comments from the recent report include: “The children develop a positive attitude to others and a very good understanding about the wider world and local community”;
“The children’s behaviour is exemplary they show an excellent understanding of what standards of behaviour are expected and apply these in order to keep themselves and others safe.”
“The children make healthy choices about what they eat and drink, as meals are made from freshly prepared ingredients. The children receive a very good range of healthy and wholesome meals.”
“Babies and young children are extremely content and settled because their individual health, physical and dietary needs are met to an exceptional standard.”
“Parents are extremely well informed about all aspects of their children's achievement, well-being and development.”
